It is the technique and process of creating photographs of the human body or portions of the human body and their functions for clinical purposes (medical procedures trying to reveal, diagnose, or evaluate disease) or medical science, which includes the study of normal anatomy and physiology. Although imaging of damaged organs and tissues can be conducted for medical purposes, such operations are more commonly called pathology than medical imaging.
Candidates who complete the Diploma in Radiology and Imaging Technology course may work in sectors such as private care facilities, occupational health centres, radiotherapy research institutes, radiotherapy equipment manufacturers, and so on.
